What is Thermostatic Radiator Valve (TRV)?

TRV is the 'Thermostatic Radiator Valve' which is used instead of manually controlled (manual) radiator valves in radiator (honeycomb) heating systems.

TRV offers the opportunity to adjust the room temperature to the desired value, to keep it constant and to re-adjust if desired.

TRV, thanks to its mechanism; automatically adjusts (decreases or increases) the amount of water going to the radiator to keep the room temperature at the desired value. In this way, TRV; It allows you to experience comfort at the desired room temperature.

TRV prevents the unnecessary temperature fluctuations by detecting the effects of heat emitted from other external (solar etc.) and internal (environment people, working electrical devices, etc.) that increase the room temperature, thus saving energy up to .

1. Installation of Valve Body to Radiator Installation

The following steps are applied during the assembly of the valve body.

  • The union on the valve body is removed. The part to which the valve will be connected to the radiator is wrapped with sealing element (linen, paste, telfon etc.) and mounted on the radiator.
  • The sealing element is wrapped in the pipe to which the valve will be connected and the valve body is mounted on the pipe.
  • Then, the valve body, which is mounted on the pipe with the fitting on the radiator, is tightened with a wrench and the valve body assembly is completed.

2. Sensor Installation

After the valve body is properly mounted on the radiator, the valve body cover is removed. The sensor is easily connected to the valve without requiring any equipment. When the sensor is attached to the body, the spring-lock connection is activated and the sensor is securely connected.

Danfoss Temperature Setting with Thermostatic Valve

By using Danfoss Thermostatic Radiator Valve, you will have the opportunity to adjust and control the temperature of each independent section (room) individually in your home or office. By turning the adjustment dial on the sensor (sensor), the desired room temperature is set.

Temperature Limiting in Thermostatic Radiator Valve

The Sensor can be limited to operate in certain temperature ranges by using the upper and lower limiting pins on it.

Temperature Lower Limit

After the Thermostatic Radiator Valve (TRV) is installed in the installation, the sensor temperature indicator is set to * (star) for the lower limit of temperature. By holding down the lower limit pin with the help of a screwdriver, the sensor scale is rotated to the point where the lower limit will be made and the limiting pin is left at the temperature where the lower limit will be made.

Temperature Upper Limiting

For the upper limit of the temperature, the sensor temperature indicator is set to the 5 (five) position. By holding the upper limit pin with the help of a screwdriver, the sensor scale is rotated to the point where the upper limit will be made and the limiting pin is left at the temperature where the upper limit will be made.
